Top Playground Discoveries in 2021.

e principal aim of Out and About - Family Nature Connection is to get kids out and about in nature. I love hiking in the bush or walking in urban settings along the river or the coast but I realise that hiking and long walks don't suit everyone so I also try to explore playgrounds around Perth. My theory is that you take the kids out for a walk or a hike (most kids will love being in nature and exploring the environment) and then use an exciting playground as the reward for completing the walk. Hopefully there is a nice cafe nearby too as a reward for the parents!

These are the playgrounds I have discovered in 2021.

1. Noah's Playground

Discovered after walking the nearby John George Walk Trail this playground is hidden in the pretty Rosehill Waters development in South Guildford.

2. Joel's Playground

Another hidden playground this one is near North Coogee but we discovered it after walking in Manning Park.

3. Ngarkal Beach Water Playground

Ngarkal Beach in North Coogee is stunning on it's own but it also has a water park on the shores of the beach as well as large dinosaur eggs to discover.

4. Weeip Park

Brand new this play space in Midland caters for all ages and is set to become a central community space in the town.

5. Carawatha Park

This play space in Willagee caters for intergenerational and all abilities play and is a perfect spot for a family get together.

In the spirit of reconciliation Out and About- Family Nature Connection acknowledges the traditional owners of the Wadjak boodjar (Perth land) and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
